IS THIS CAMP A GOOD FIT FOR MY CHILD?
Our goal at Summer Social is to create a fun and safe environment for all children to learn and have fun regardless of whether they have a diagnosis. As the focus of this camp is around learning a specific curriculum, some prerequisites are highly recommended in order for your child to be eligible for the camp:

Must be able to attend to group instruction (please indicate the level of support required: independent, verbal reminders, 1:1 support on application form).
Must posses close to average language, cognitive and learning abilities but struggle to understand and process the social world.

DOES MY CHILD NEED 1:1 SUPPORT?

Children who require an EA or support at school do not necessarily require it at camp due to our small group settings and structured activities. However, some children participate best at camp with individualized support. The 1:1 support in addition to small groups assists us in maximizing safety and success for all campers. We require 1:1 support for your child if:

When feeling dysregulated, they engage in challenging behaviour (pushing, kicking, throwing, hitting) that needs individualized support.
When feeling dysregulated, they elope.
Have regulation strategies that needs individualized support to complete.
Are unable to attend to group instruction independently or general reminders.
They have a behavioural support plan included in their IEP.
