The only requirement to attend Summer Social is social awkwardness. Summer Social seeks kids and teenagers ages 5 to 19 to spend mornings or afternoons learning, playing, and making friends.  Campers may or may not have a variety of diagnoses that impact their communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and decision-making abilities, including autism, learning disabilities, ADHD and giftedness. We are pleased to say that 80% of our campers return to join us year after year. This year we are pleased to offer a behavior support program for campers with higher needs.  The higher needs program runs concurrently with the regular

camp session.  Children requiring behavioral support are assigned a 1:1 behavioral interventionist AND matched into a small group of peers with a skilled group leader.  All Summer Social Behavior Interventionists have prior training on ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) home teams, in addition to the training and supervision required for all Summer Social staff.  Behavioral support plans are created by Kathryn Theroux, Summer Social co-director and experienced behavior consultant, in collaboration with the child's private behavior consultant, if possible.  Please email the camp directors to determine whether your child would benefit from the higher needs program.
